Adam Thurgood, CFA, CFP® serves as Managing Partner of Hightower Las Vegas and leads the team’s investment process.  Adam began his career in the financial services industry in 2000 with Prudential Securities. He was a Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager in Merrill Lynch's PIA Program and joined Hightower Las Vegas as a founding member in 2012.

Adam earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He graduated magna cum laude and was an ITA Scholar-athlete while playing tennis for the Rebels. He also holds a master’s degree in Banking and Financial Services from Boston University, as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Adam is regularly quoted in the financial press and has appeared numerous times on CNBC, as well as other radio and TV programs.

Adam is an ardent supporter of financial education. He has served in positions such as adjunct finance professor at UNLV, a board member and Vice Chair of Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada and has traveled the world in various capacities for CFA Institute.

Originally from Utah, Adam is an avid adventurer, spending his free time backcountry skiing in remote locations and trekking throughout the world.  He loves music and has recorded several original songs on the ukulele.
